I’m such a huge Jayda Marx fan and when this book came out I was excited then I read the synopsis and was feeling unsure.I was so sad and so disappointed. Most of Jayda’s books are amazing but this one was just bad in my mind.You meet talon who’s a gay shifter. He talks about how he came upon the pride and how shifters are usually promiscuous till they find their mate. I mean I was ok with that. As in the synopsis it talks about Brandon walking in on him with another man. I mean that’s understandable but to have so many people watching you as well. Just wasn’t my cup of tea. Then all of a sudden talon is doing everything in his power to make his mate fall for him.The worst character had to be Brandon. By far the worst. He’s shy and timid. What really annoyed me is that even though he walked in in talon with another man and having the man he’s been drawing and figuring out that their mate doesn’t seem to phase him at all. I know they weren’t together then but Jesus have some sense of respect. In real life if it was a shifter world and I found out my mate was smashing someone else yes I’ll get over it but not tomorrow or a week from then and worst part is talon so cocky didn’t even apologize at the time he knew.What’s the saying that Brenda Meek says from scary movie 2? “She don’t love herself”. I felt like Brandon just literally too insecure and have no self respect for himself. I could never mate with talon after seeing that it’s like it would be engrained into my memories. It’s a thing to know you’ve had past partners and one thing to actually see it.I’m sorry Jayda but if you were going to go with this kind of story and character set you should’ve made the book longer. Learning and seeing your mate shagging someone else would cause problems and turmoil into your new relationship and that’s what the whole story could’ve been built on but 73 pages or so ain’t going to solve that mess.
